Hydrogeology and Groundwater Exploration Projects

NDGL has significant experience in groundwater exploration projects in Saskatchewan. We have helped numerous clients with licensing their groundwater wells with Saskatchewan Water Security Agency (WSA) and obtaining Water Rights Licences (WRL). We conduct all our groundwater investigation projects in accordance with the requirements outlined in WSA Groundwater Approval Process.

Water Supply Well for a Hutterite Colony - Cando, SK

NDGL designed and tested a new groundwater well in the Judith River Aquifer for an existing colony of about 150 people near Cando, SK. We provided hydrogeological services for all aspects of the project and assisted the client in obtaining Water Rights Licences (WRL) for the well at 21 USGPM (1.7 L/sec).

Licencing Support for Existing Wells - Cabri, SK

NDGL assisted a client with testing and licensing of two (2) existing groundwater wells located southeast of Cabri, SK. Our scope included drilling new observation wells to support the aquifer testing program and assessing the sustainable well yield from the wells, as well as any potential impacts on surrounding groundwater resources.

Geotechnical Examples

NDGL has assisted numerous clients across the province with a diverse range of geotechnical assessment projects. Our projects encompass various aspects of geotechnical engineering, including geotechnical drilling and instrumentation, slope stability assessments, pile inspections, and the design of both deep and shallow foundation systems.

Slope Stability Assessment for a Residential Development - Warman, SK

NDGL provided engineering support for a proposed residential development project in Warman, SK. We completed a geotechnical drilling and instrumentation program in the field. A 2-D slope stability model was completed to meet RM's minimum requirements for development along the South Saskatchewan River.

Geotechnical Slope Stability

Multi-Story Office Tower - Saskatoon, SK

NDGL provided geotechnical consulting services to support the design of a multi-story office tower building in Saskatoon, SK. The field program included drilling five (5) boreholes to depths of 13.7 m to 20.3 m below grade within the proposed building footprint. Following a soil lab testing program, a comprehensive report was prepared for the client, providing foundation design and site preparation recommendations.

Our construction engineering services ensure projects are completed to specifications with comprehensive quality control and monitoring.

PDA Testing of Driven Steel Piles

Humboldt, SK

NDGL conducted a dynamic load test to evaluate the performance of driven steel piles at a commercial building project near Humboldt, SK. The test was performed using the Pile Driving Analyzer® (PDA). Upon completion of the test, we provided a comprehensive report to the Client. This report included the information about pile capacity, soil resistance, pile integrity, and hammer efficiency.
