Geotechnical Investigation and Slope Stability Assessment

Project Summary

ND Geosciences provided geotechnical consulting services for a proposed in-ground swimming pool development within the RM of Corman Park, Saskatchewan, near the west bank of the South Saskatchewan River. The scope of work included detailed geotechnical drilling and SPT testing, soil sampling, piezometer installation, laboratory testing, and a detailed topographic and borehole survey to define site geometry and slope conditions.

Services Provided

  • Geotechnical drilling and SPT testing
  • Soil sampling and laboratory testing
  • Piezometer installation
  • Topographic and borehole survey
  • Groundwater monitoring program
  • Slope stability analysis
  • Seepage analysis

Key Highlights

01

Slope Stability Analysis

Comprehensive analysis to evaluate factors of safety and establish appropriate setback distance for the pool construction near the river bank.

02

Seepage Analysis

Assessment of potential impacts to the underlying aquifer in the event of pool leakage to protect groundwater resources.

03

Groundwater Monitoring

Piezometer installation and monitoring program to support slope stability analysis and foundation design.

04

Site Geometry Assessment

Detailed topographic and borehole survey to accurately define site geometry and slope conditions.
