Geotechnical Investigation for Multi-Storey Building Development

Project Summary

ND Geosciences completed a comprehensive geotechnical investigation program that included borehole drilling, soil sampling, in-situ testing, laboratory analysis, and groundwater monitoring to accurately characterize subsurface soil and groundwater conditions at the site. The field program was designed to evaluate soil stratigraphy, strength, compressibility, and moisture characteristics, as well as to identify any potential geotechnical constraints that could influence foundation performance and site development.

Services Provided

  • Borehole drilling and soil sampling
  • In-situ testing and laboratory analysis
  • Groundwater monitoring program
  • Settlement analysis (total and differential)
  • Seismic site classification
  • Deep foundation design recommendations

Key Highlights

01

Subsurface Investigation

Detailed geotechnical drilling program to evaluate soil stratigraphy, strength, compressibility, and moisture characteristics, identifying potential geotechnical constraints.

02

Deep Foundation Design

Deep foundation options including cast-in-place concrete piles and helical screw piles, with preliminary design parameters and installation considerations.

03

Below-Grade Structures

Recommendations for underground parking with lateral earth pressure parameters, groundwater considerations, and excavation support guidance.

04

Settlement Analysis

Assessment of both total and differential foundation movements to ensure structural integrity and performance.
